Banks, Currency, Credit Cards
The local currency is the Canadian dollar (CAD). Foreign currency can be exchanged at the airport as well as at private exchange offices found throughout the city. There are many banks and ATMs close to Concordia University and several National Bank ATMS are located on campus.
The electrical supply and outlets (sockets, wall plugs) are the same as those found in the United States. The standard voltage is 110-120 V, with a standard frequency of 60 Hz. European plugs are not compatible with Canadian electrical sockets. In order to plug in your electric appliances, you will need a plug adapter.
